Zeija Engages Stakeholders on Day II of Southwestern Uganda Court Tour

Chief Justice Flavian Zeija continues his judicial tour in Southwestern Uganda, engaging stakeholders to assess service delivery and strengthen coordination across the justice system.

Chief Justice Flavian Zeija has commenced the second day of his judicial tour in Southwestern Uganda with a stakeholder engagement at Rukiga Magistrate’s Court, currently operating from Muhanga Town Council Offices.

The visit is part of ongoing efforts by the Judiciary of Uganda to assess service delivery, address operational challenges, and strengthen coordination across justice sector institutions.

The engagements provide a platform for judicial officers and stakeholders to share feedback on court performance and identify areas requiring improvement.

The Chief Justice is accompanied by Karoli Lwanga Ssemogerere, Resident Judge of Kabale High Court; Pius Bigirimana, the Permanent Secretary and Secretary to the Judiciary; and Lamunu Pamella Ocaya.

Upon arrival, Justice Zeija was received by several judicial officers, including Amoko Patricia, Kenneth Tumwebaze, Byamugisha Derrick, Mwesigye Julius, and Julius Mutabazi.

The engagement has drawn a broad range of stakeholders from the justice sector and local leadership. Among them are Zadock Kamusiime, Grace Nabaggala from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions Uganda, Robert Kakwerere, Steven Twinomugisha, Barbra Ainebyoona, and Jonathan Anguzu.

Justice Zeija inspected a guard of honour mounted by the Uganda Police Force before proceeding to the engagement session, which has brought together representatives from the Uganda Prisons Service, police, advocates, district officials, religious leaders, and members of the public.

Later in the day, the Chief Justice is expected to hold a similar engagement at the Kabale High Court and preside over the opening of the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs Uganda building in Kabale. The development is aimed at improving access to justice services in the region.
